ORO-MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY

It has been recognised by dentists for many years that the final factor in developing tooth position is the oral and facial muscles, especially the tongue. Correcting a malocclusion without addressing the underlying muscular and craniofacial aetiological factors is now thought to be a major cause of relapse.  Myofunctional therapists have rightly been major players in the management of malocclusion.
